Proactive Networking

Proactively networking is about sharing yourself, goals and dreams with others and they do the same with you. You focus on helping others realise their dreams and goals and they focus on doing the same for you. It’s not just about business card swapping, quick hello handshakes and introductions. It’s about creating value, being genuine and it’s about wanting the best for others. I’ve redefined success into the following formula:

Success  =
Focus + Being Unstoppable + Networking

Net-work instead of Hard-work !
Group action vs Individual action

Inside the Art of Networking

A JEN STORY from the Book

I was in Circular Quay in Sydney on a hot Sunday afternoon. I was coming back from the beach and was not working. I was stuck in gridlock traffic and, not knowing when the traffic was going to move again, I started looking around at the people in their cars. The traffic going the other direction had stopped too. A man in a van smiled at me and I rolled down my window and said to him, ‘So, what do you do?’

He looked a bit surprised at the boldness of my question and then answered.
I replied, ‘How’s business going?’
He answered, ‘It could be better, we need to grow our sales.’

At this point I said, ‘Really, that’s very interesting.’
He countered, ‘Why, what do you do?’
I replied,’ I help businesses grow by writing business plans, coaching business owners and generally get businesses moving!’

His answer was, ‘Really, do you have a business card?’
